Crispy Oven Fries with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

Crispy Oven Fries with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

Hey guys, it’s Leigh Ann again from My Diary of Us.  I’m popping in to share an irresistible french fry recipe for #YellowWeek here on Eat the Rainbow Kids that your whole family is going to love.  French fries are one of those foods that I can never get enough of or pass up if they are available.  I love making them at home because I can cook them up right in the oven making them a bit healthier for when the craving hits.  I am also a huge fan of dips when it comes to french fries and there are so many other dip option besides ketchup that pair perfectly with fries.  This recipe for crispy oven fries with honey mustard dipping sauce is going to be your new favorite combo!

French fries are a food that kids and adults alike love, and for good reason.  What’s not to love about a crispy and salty potato?

YUM!

I usually like to bake my fries in the oven until they get nice and crispy, but you could also use an air fryer here.  The point is we want to get them nice and browned so they are crispy like they have been fried.  So many people think you have to soak them in water and do all of these steps, but I’m here to tell you that all you to do is slice them and bake them!

The key is to make sure you don’t overcrowd you pan, and to cook them on parchment paper so that they don’t stick.  You also want to use a good amount of oil so that they french fry will brown up and crisp up like you want.  Depending on your oven, you might need to flip them gently half way through cooking to get both sides nice and brown, but some ovens will do that without flipping.

While your fries cook, you can make this honey mustard dipping sauce that is not only amazing with these french fries, but is truly good with all the things!  It’s great on chicken tenders, veggies, sandwiches, salads, and so much more.  With just five major ingredients, you probably already have everything on hand to make this delicious and easy sauce.

I will say that these fries are best eaten fresh out of the oven, and I like to add a little sprinkle of flakey salt and a few chives as well, but that is totally optional!  Either way, I can promise you that there will not be a fry leftover.  I can’t wait for y’all to give these a try for yourself.
